1 Meter Class (IOM – International One Metre)
The International One Metre (IOM) class is one of the most competitive and respected categories in RC sailing worldwide.
Defined by strict class rules and a fixed hull length of one meter, the IOM class creates a unique balance between fairness and performance — where success depends on precision, setup, and real skill on the water.
It is the benchmark class for serious sailors, combining accessibility with a high level of competition.
Henning Konow has been competing in the IOM class for many years, with consistent participation in national rankings and regattas under the German Sailing Federation (DSV).
This long-term experience provides a deep understanding of hull behavior, sail dynamics, and performance optimization under real racing conditions.

Compared to smaller classes, Marblehead boats demand a higher level of technical understanding and precision — both in construction and in racing.
Henning Konow has competed successfully in this class, achieving strong results in national-level regattas, including a Top 10 finish (7th place in Seeburg).

My name is Henning Konow.
I have been competing for over 18 years and building my own
boats since the beginning.
Over time, I learned that true performance does not come from standard parts — it comes from understanding every detail.
HK Boats was created from this mindset:
to build high-quality boats and components tested under real
conditions.
Today, I share this experience with customers, enthusiasts, and future builders.

HK Boats is built on real competitive experience.
Founder Henning Konow has been actively competing in RC sailing for decades, with official results recorded in the German ranking system under the Deutscher Segler-Verband (DSV).
Over the years, he has consistently competed across multiple classes, including IOM, Marblehead, and RG65 — demonstrating versatility and deep technical understanding of high-performance model boats.
With an average regatta ranking of 12th place, his results reflect not only experience, but consistent performance at a competitive level.
His participation in German National Championships and ranking regattas over many years highlights long-term dedication to the sport.
Selected results include:
